My new racquet - Kimoni

Value for money, recommended by a friend. Previously, I only trusted YONEX. But After a few games with this new toy, I am converted. I bought mine in HK, at the Racquet Shop in Mong Kok.
If you can find this brand in Canada, I would recommend to give it a try.

Another TC gem - Eason sings 多少

Find the song on YouTube

I wonder what the song might sound like it TC sang it herself? en Anglais, peut etre?

Where Did All That Time Go?

Work, play, work, play and before you know it 6 months have passed by. Can't complain about life. I enjoy it.

Fall is always a nice time to reflect upon the summer, the year etc.. There's been a lot of things this year on which to put thoughts. I also like the changing colours in the fall....until I rake 10 bags of maple leaves and other yard waste. I like the afternoon walks after work, cool but not cold......but no more with the DST gone until next year.

This is the final stretch of 2009 - when I wake up to darkness and prepare for work, and leave work in darkness, which sets in at 5PM...eventually 4:30 at the earliest. Sigh. This time every year, I am reminded that I am a "light" person, and prefer hot vs. cold...ANYTIME

Some pics from recent vacation to tropical hot in HK. Loved it.

Not because he's singing a TC song

Was surfing round youtube, shopping for new music, when I came across this find. I admit, was drawn to the video first by the fact that someone was doing a cover of a favourite Tanya Chua song. Then when I listened to it, and looked at the the guy's profile, wow he's so unassuming but so talented!

What a beautiful voice and such good musical sense. Two thumbs up!

Istanbul

East meets West.

Europe cosmopolitan side by side with Turkish traditions.

What an interesting place. Great food. Wonderfully nice people. Overzealous salesmen at every corner! I like to do my shopping RELAXED.

Highlight of the trip: with no plans in mind, just exploring the city, I bumped into colleagues, with whom I had parted a few days earlier, in the middle of a busy street in Istanbul. Decided to take advantage of the company and hung out together for the rest of the fun night.
The old Chinese saying "If destined, even thousands of miles away can we meet"

Red Heels....

Hooked on the tune, and especially love the lyrics:

"I have strong feelings for you
Yet I hardly know you at all
I am going on instinct

You're like the comfort when I am wrapped within my blanket
Yet you are also like the wind. I cannot catch or hold it in my hand"

Cheer up your day with a listen of this song.
See the video on YouTube, named "Red Heels" by Tanya Chua.

Part 2 - Tokyo-HK Dec'08

The trip was a blast. And total pig-out for me. By the way, it's been 2 months, and I am still trying to work off the 5lbs I gained in 2weeks. That's also why I don't have any time to write a blog anymore..... : ) Need all the time I can get to hit the gym.

Highlight of my trip:
(1) Seeing friends and family. Not a single day spent on my own. Thank you to everyone for the caring and taking time to be with me. Heartfelt.
(2) Onsen-ing in Japan, of course. Just cannot explain, but nothing is more relaxing and mind clearing than washing oneself down from head to toe, and then immersing one's whole body into a pool of 40C water.

What I must try doing next time: not catching a cold in Japan.

Why is the post below called Part 1?

Because there will be Part 2 soon : )

JP Part 1 - Nov'08

Ohaiyo!
Dear, I've lost a lot of grasp on the Japanese language. It really showed in the restaurants. I don't use it much in Canada to get fluent. I should make myself practice with Masa-san, but then I only get my hair done q2mos.

Anyway, enough of that. My first trip to JP with both my parents since our last....when I was 4 years old =P ....This time around, my parents must have noticed much less effect of jet lag on me; they claim I slept on the tour bus the whole time on that 1st trip (could be true, but I have no recollection of the sights nor the trip itself). Hah! I was the bright and smart tourguide taking 5 other trip mates sightseeing and looking for good eats this time. FYI - still had no trouble sleeping....trip mate Monita was witness to that : )

Saw a Okinawa festival / fair in Shinjuku-eki....Oh, wished I were back in Ryukyu. Maybe it's time I visited again....really miss the place. Here's some favourite pics from the trip:

I love Orchids, and this must be a first: tatooed orchids

Joke of the day: Coffee, anyone?

Rumour was that given the current global financial crisis, 3 major coffee chains operating in Canada decided to merge.

Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Second Cup would combine to form a new operation:

Say "Timbuktu" out loud 3 times!
