Happy Spring Equinox

Happy Easter, Welcome to Spring. Well, can't really tell from the weather in Toronto. Just happened to blow a few snow flakes again today. Oh, I should be on vacation by now, but no such luck this year. It's x busy at work. And I'm just not in the mood, although I could sure use a break. That's why the Easter weekend has come at a perfect time. Take a few days to recharge. Hmm dreaming of a nice tropical beach.......

Some of you might have heard I took the Japanese proficiency exam level 2 last December. Finally got the results, failed miserably, hah hah, kind of expected it, was totally not prepared. Will get another kick at the can this year. I'll really have to study for it this time. Will watching more j-dramas and listening to j-pop help? Any little bit counts

A report came out the other day here in Canada. Projections have it that by 2013 there will be more visible minorities in Toronto than those of caucasian (European) heritage: South-Asians, Chinese etc.....in that order. Just how much has changed these last few years? Well look at the immense popularity of the following: sushi, bubble tea, Korean BBQ, etc.. you get the drift. Just tonight I saw a tv commercial on mainstream channel and there was an old lady on a bus talking to a caucasian in Cantonese! Toronto is so minority-friendly to a fault some days, people don't even realize that not all people speak their language afterall. Reminded me of seeing an old man at Shoppers Drug Mart the other day asking Mr. G in Chinese, "Gor dee Fan-see-lum yau bye hey been do arh?" (where's the vaseline hand lotion?) I suppose if it can happen in real-life, it can also be on tv. I just find it all funny. Sign of the times. Bless our elders. They are so cute sometimes.
