I am fascinated with shima uta (island songs). Here's a recent find - by the name of Kousuke Atari. If you know Hajime Chitose, his singing style is similar to hers, but sort of like the male version.
I find his voice very unique, unforgettable. Take a test-drive on this short video clip of his latest hit "sore zore ni"

Got his CD already from YesAsia, but I haven't got a clue how he sings...but at least he look good...hahaha
