Tracking the Christmas Cactus

Dad bought this cactus about 2 years ago? In any case, have not seen it bloom since then, just sits around in the house, green all the time but not with much fanfare. Then, something changed this summer - it started growing these buds on all its stems. Must be a good year, as it is now ready to go into full bloom. Dad asked me to keep an eye on this baby, so here it is, in pictures:
