Some of you may have heard through the grapevine or your friendly contacts at ShoppyD's, yes G is leaving. The corporate types have been putting a lot of pressure on him in the last little while, making it as unenjoyable as possible for him, so he's got no reason to hang around. Everyone at the store will miss G dearly, and some customers have even inquired about coming to his farewell party. Show's the man has certainly built something special in the neighbourhood all those years.
His story gives me a good insight into work life. You can be dedicated to your work and always aim to do well, but never fall into the trap of believing company loyalty is worth much. When push comes to shove, well, be it a king in the ancient days or a modern employer, if need be, there will always be a reason to get rid of someone. And so the saying, "No one person is irreplaceable." Every person should look out for themselves. More importantly, if you are enjoying yourself then make an effort to make the experience as enjoyable for people around you, too. But if you're not liking it, then do something about it, don't wait for someone else to change anything for you.

Hey sis...seems like your blog was spammed...sigh. Spammers are a nasty breed of humanity. I wonder what drives them to spam...
Yes, I agree...G will be missed.
Sorry to hear that! Has Mr G left by now? What is he up to? Retired?
How about Albert? Is he still in Shoppers?
